It is quite clear that Roseanne Barr will not be part of the "Roseanne" spinoff show, but we were all wondering how she will be written off the show.
John Goodman aka Dan Conner revealed to the U.K. Times that his character in the spinoff will be “mopey and sad because his wife’s dead.”
ABC announced that the network will move forward with the spinoff show, "The Conners"after the reboot show "Roseanne" was abruptly cancelled after her racist tweet to former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.
Roseanne said her tweet was misinterpreted and that she is not racist.
John Goodman agreed when he told the U.K. Times, "I know, for a fact that she’s not a racist."
He also said that he was "brokenhearted" and "surprised" at the show's cancellation.
The reboot first season was only nine episodes.
In order for "The Conners" to move forward from ABC, Roseanne had to sign over all her rights to the show, effectively ending her prime-time career.
The 10-episode spinoff will premiere on October 16th in the same Tuesday at 8 PT time slot that was originally planned for season 2 of "Roseanne"
