HOLLYWOOD, CA (Dec. 14, 2018) – Announced today, iHeartMedia’s nationally-syndicated on air personality ELLEN K will become the first-ever TCL Chinese Theatre ambassador and permanent master of ceremonies for its famed celebrity handprint-footprint ceremonies.
To inaugurate her new role, the first-of-its-kind at the TCL Chinese Theatre in its 90 year-history, the host of Los Angeles’ KOST 103.5’s top rated “Ellen K Morning Show” and nationally syndicated “The Ellen K Weekend Show” will do the MC honors Friday at the Pitbulll TCL Chinese Theatre ceremony commemorating the worldwide music star with a hand and footprint ceremony.
For the first time in its storied, 90-year history, the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood will open a location outside of Hollywood. On December 14, Theatre Box® in San Diego’s Gaslamp district will open and feature multiple TCL Chinese Theatre screens along with Sugar Factory’s American Brasserie and other original celebrity-branded venues.
Ellen landed the hosting duties on KOST 103.5 after co-hosting with Ryan Seacrest for 12 years on KIIS FM Los Angeles, and on the nationally syndicated “On Air With Ryan Seacrest”.
Ellen began her long-running radio career in San Diego, followed by San Francisco and then KIIS FM Los Angeles. Ellen regularly appears on CBS’s The Talk and Home for the Holidays, and is the narrator for My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding on TLC, and Hatched on the CW. Ellen K is also the voice of the Grammy Awards & The Academy Awards 2016.
Ellen was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the annual Genie Award & the inaugural Airblazer Award commemorating ‘Women Inspiring Women in Radio’.
The San Diego opening of the new luxury theatre, dining and entertainment complex in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, will commence Friday, December 14, at 6 p.m. with the unveiling of Pitbull’s hand and footprints. This longstanding TCL Chinese Theatre tradition will be Theatre Box’s first of many displays honoring a celebrity’s career. The ceremony will be followed by a star-studded red-carpet arrival, where Pitbull will announce his collaboration with Theatre Box, and a DJ performance by San Diego native Nick Cannon in the Chocolate Lounge.
