McDonald's new paper straws are now fully recyclable.
It's in full effect in the United Kingdom and customers aren't thrilled about it.
The paper straw replaces the plastic straws and customers are saying that the paper straws are too thick to be processed properly.
According to Transcend Packaging, the straws aren't to blame for them not recycling the way they were supposed to.
Many also said the straw would completely dissolve before the drink was even finished!
There is currently a petition being signed by 51,000 wanting to bring back plastic straws.
In the UK, McDonald's uses 1.8 million straws a day, so the move to paper was taking a step in the direction of helping to reduce single-use plastic.
