This Is Why My Kid Is Using A Blue Halloween Candy Bucket Tonight

This is a great idea! Have you heard of the special reason why some kids might be using blue Halloween candy buckets? This year many in the Autism spectrum will be trying the BLUE BUCKET to signify that they have Autism. A mother posted a viral post on Facebook asking for people to please understand her son with Autism is also non-verbal (which means he doesn't speak) and is not able to say "Trick-or-Treat". Many other families are in her position and they'd like everyone to know that if you spot anyone using a BLUE BUCKET this Halloween, please don't expect them to say "Trick-Or-Treat"! Chances are, their caregiver will be saying it for them. Also, another important note to keep in mind, for some of us, it's a victory in itself to get our kids dressed up and walk around the block.

From one Autism mama to another, thank you mama Taylor from Facebook for bringing this great point up! My daughter Bella is an 11-yr old with special needs who is also non-verbal. Bella was born with Down Syndrome and years later was diagnosed with Autism as well. I've encountered this problem every year and what she wants more than anything is to do all the things we all get to do without any odd stares or rude comments. The Autism community has taken great strides to bring awareness of issues we face as a family, and for that reason alone, we are grateful when people help us, help our kids. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! 🎃💙🎗️ -@SocialQueenDarlene
