As face masks slowly become the new normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A Japanese start up just developed an internet connected "smart mask" that will transmit messages and translate from Japanese into eight other languages.
It's a white plastic c-mask that will fit over standard face masks and connect through Bluetooth to a smartphone and tablet.
It then will be able to transcribe speech into text messages, make phone calls or amplify the mask wearer's voice.
