HATCH ALERT! Some really great news from the nest of Jackie and Shadow–Big Bear’s beloved bald eagles! Late last night the live stream camera showed the very first crack! It's been a long journey for the pair as they lost the first 3 eggs of the year, stolen by ravens. And then last year's eggs turned out to be infertile.
The cracks are technically called “pips” and it takes up to a full day for the eaglet to emerge after the initial pip. So, by tonight, we’re havin’ a baby! If you'd like to watch the nest cam, here's the link front and center LIVE:
