Who is ready to return to the Staples Center?!

Indoor professional sports with fans is officially back in Los Angeles starting this Thursday when the Lakers take on the Celtics. The Clippers and Kings will play in front of fans for the first time in over a year! Due to the ongoing pandemic, it has brought some major changes. Some which include a reduced capacity of around 2,000 fans on the first night.

President of the Microsoft Theater, Lee Zeidman stated "We did an A-to-Z audit of the venue. We looked to take out everything that you could put a touch on. Everything that you could come in contact with and improve that. We went cashless. We went all digital."

In order to enter the Staples Center, you'll need to either show your vaccine card and be two weeks past your final shot or show a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event. Since the area is inside, you will no longer be able to eat in your seat because your mask will have to remain on. Everything will be online in a mobile app, there are QR codes on your seats, signs and all over the building. You can even sign up for text notifications.

Since you aren't allowed to eat in your seats, the rules for exit and entry have changed. You can now exit during a game to enjoy Chick Hearn Court, which will be an outdoor eating area that features food trucks and other items for purchase. They now. have outdoor dining and expanded the perimeter to allow for plenty of social distancing when fans remove their masks to eat.
