A flight from Salt Lake City to Hawaii landed with an extra passenger!
In the middle of the flight, a baby was born before landing! Lavina Mounga was nervous when she suddenly went into labor halfway through the flight, 29 weeks into her pregnancy! Onboard the flight were a doctor and three NICU nurses that were able to help with the delivery of the baby. They used shoelaces to cut the umbilical cord and made baby warmers out of microwaved bottles, then measured the newborn's heart rate with an Apple Watch. After the flight landed, EMT's then met Mounga and her new son Raymond at the Honolulu airport to take them to a hospital!
This was all captured in a TikTok video from the plane and was viewed millions of times.
