Sugar Bear is the nickname for this years Capitol Christmas Tree and it is on the move!
Also known as the People's Tree, it will be stopping by the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this Saturday morning on its way to its final destination on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol building for the holiday season.
The 84-foot tall white fir tree will be open to the public and free to all. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the viewing will be a drive-thru event from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rose Bowl.
Sugar Bear, was harvested at the Six Rivers National Forest in October. It has started its 3,300-mile journey with plans to stop at 25 outdoor community celebrations before being delivered to the U.S. Capitol on Nov. 19.
The tree will then be decorated with handmade ornaments and tree skirts specially created by Californians!
It will be lit at the 99th Annual White House Christmas Tree Lighting which will air on CBS in December and be voiced by our very own Ellen K of the Ellen K Morning Show.
