Spooky season is finally here and leading up to everyone's favorite haunted holiday. As the weather cools down and a chill lingers in the air, Halloween lovers are putting the final touches on their costumes and stocking up on all of the best goodies.

Even with all the ghost stories, haunted houses and spirited parties, most people may agree that the real star of Halloween is the candy. Everyone has their own personal favorite, from chewy and sour to sweet and chocolatey, but how does it measure up to other popular candies?

Popular food delivery service DoorDash looked at ordering data from last year to determine which candies were desired more around Halloween, basing its ranking on "the top uniquely popular candy purchases in the month leading up to and ending on Halloween (10/1/24 - 10/31/24)."

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups was the most popular candy overall, being the top choice for 14 states, but options like value-brand Sweet Smiles Candy and licorice rivals Twizzlers and Red Vines were also favorites in several states.
