With some airlines opening up capacity on holiday flights, Delta is keeping social distance in mind to slow the spread of COVID-19.
On Wednesday, Delta Airlines announced that the middle seats on their flights would remain blocked until March 2021. Delta says that even though they have stringent cleaning protocols and advanced in-cabin filters for air circulation, the seat blockage is another way to help travelers get back to flying.
In a statement, Delta's chief customer experience officer Bill Lentsch said, "We recognize some customers are still learning to live with this virus and desire extra space for their peace of mind. We are listening and will always take the appropriate steps to ensure our customers have complete confidence in their travel with us.”
Southwest Airlines will lift the block on middle seats at the end of November. United and American Airlines have already had full seating on their planes during the pandemic.
